Dear Veterinary Educators, Deans, and Leaders:
I am writing to you to let you know about the ASPIRE Award, which now allows veterinary colleges/schools to be recognized internationally for their excellence in education. As the president of Veterinary Education Worldwide (ViEW) I urge you to consider applying for ASPIRE recognition. The importance of teaching and education as a central mission of veterinary schools alongside research and clinical care has steadily risen over the past decade. ASPIRE awards give veterinary schools the opportunity to be recognized internationally for innovative programs in teaching and learning. Please see the attached brochure and the link to the ASPIRE website (http://www.aspire-to-excellence.org/Home/). This is the first year that veterinary schools can apply for these distinctions. Because of the late notice, the deadline for submissions has been extended to 31 March, 2015.
